Intel vs. AMD

This is a short project, dedicated to such world-known companies as Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

Intel AMD

I mostly familiar with their computer equipment products, especially with microprocessors. These are competing companies. Due to them the world of PC users is divided into two camps: Intel fans (admirers) and AMD fans (admirers).

When I was a student of the university, I was also involved in that process of choosing: Intel or AMD. I had several computers at those times, and some of them were Intel CPU based and some — AMD. And finally I chose Intel.

But from those times I have two CPU chips left: one Intel Pentium 100 and one AMD K5-75. These are microprocessors designed for the same platform and now became totally useless, because the progress moved much further, but they are still functioning.

I was thinking of making something to remind me those old good times.

I decided to make a photo frame with those both CPUs. The most difficult was to find suitable frame, because it should be deep enough to fit the CPUs.

How Did I Make It

Finally I found suitable frame 4x6inch (10x15cm), and work began.

First I made a stencil to be used as a background. I drew it in Corel Draw, put Intel and AMD logos on it and printed on photo paper. Then I cut holes for the CPUs.

Behind the CPUs I put some soft material. It was used as wrapping somewhere before this.

Then I put everything into the frame and fixed in it. All done.

Actually this final product has no any practical purpose, and is made just for my pleasure.
