Coast Of The Gulf Of Mexico

Corpus Christi
October 1-2, 2002

Corpus Christi City, standing on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico impressed us much. Most of all we were impressed with nature: palm-trees everywhere and huge Gulf.

Fist, as we arrived, we went to the gulf. It is nice place: sand, green boundless surface of water, blue sky. We saw pelicans there in a wild life (outside a zoo) first time in our lives. Water was very warm (and very salty). The only disappointment were jellyfishes — we do not enjoy playing with them. But we enjoyed gathering sea shells and just walking along the beach. When we came, the beach was almost empty except a couple of horse-riders. It seems like you can rent a horse to ride along the gulf...

It was also unusual to watch military helicopters flying along the coast.

Then we had nice ride trough the evening city. We liked Corpus Christi.

Next day, before our departure, we went to the Aquarium, that stands on very coast of the gulf. It was quite entertaining and interesting. Shows with people and animals (and fishes) were very impressive. Right next to the Aquarium there is an old aircraft-carrier with military aircrafts on it. It is a museum now.

Unfortunately, we had a few time to stay there and we had no time to enjoy sunset on the beach. But we saw the sunrise over the gulf from the windows of our bedroom in Jerry's house. It was unforgettable view!

We want to thank Trent, who made us such trip, and Jerry, whose marvelous house we stayed for a night.
